roles
Please direct all applications to [email protected] as [position applying for] / [name] in the subject line & view below for position details!
Note: No prior experience is needed for any of the roles, just an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm! You may be invited to a preliminary Skype call if your application goes forward (its chill, just to see if we mesh well!) But if you're uncomfortable with that please note that in your application as well!
Co-Head Editor: Will work closely together with the other head-editor to help oversee the overall vision and direction of the journal- some responsibilities will overlap with the sub-editors at the start!
Please submit a cover letter detailing why you're interested in this position & relevant experience, as well as any examples of previous creative work.
Sub-editors: Helps monitor progress of collaborations, keeps head-editors in the loop of how they are progressing. Provides support to the creators as well as some editing services.
Please submit a cover letter detailing why you're interested in this position & relevant experience, as well as any examples of previous creative work. It would be helpful to also show any previous experience you've had in managing people or directing/editing.
Design Team & Site Manager: In charge of website design and have to be ready to tackle the unique layout of the pieces (has to be more versatile than most because we’ll be dealing with all kinds of creative media and we want to be able to present that in the best light possible!)
Please submit a short cover letter and a portfolio of previous work, as well as any ideas as to how you would present this journal (not compulsory but would be a great help!).
Social Media Manager: Will help us get the word out and manage our various social media platforms (think: twitter, instagram, facebook).
Please submit a short cover letter and any relevant social media links that can showcase your abilities.
participants
Who can participate?
Literally anyone in any field of art! It's our job to help pair you and provide any guidance in the duration of this project.
Some ideas to sink your teeth into, especially if you want to collaborate but have no idea where to start:
Alternate: one person comes up with something and the other person responds.
Complementary: Both work on trying to convey the same message in different media OR they come up with something that literally complement each other: e.g writing set to a piece of music, etc.
Joint: Working on a single piece together (more useful for people who are in the same field)
When the site is finally up and running you will be able to send us a profile and we will pair you with another creator so you can work on the collaboration over a set period of time with them before the work is polished and put in the journal.
